PRAN-RFL Stands with Afghanistan in Earthquake Relief Mission

The Government of Bangladesh has announced that it will send emergency aid to Afghanistan, following the devastating earthquake that struck the country on Monday. The relief materials will be delivered on Friday by a special Bangladesh Air Force aircraft, as per the instructions of the Honourable Chief Advisor.
The aid package includes dry food, baby food, blankets, winter clothes, tents, drinking water, and medicines, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This relief is crucial as the earthquake, which struck eastern Afghanistan, has killed over 1,400 people and injured more than 3,000. The disaster has also left over 8,000 homes destroyed and caused widespread shortages of food, water, and shelter in the affected regions.
Bangladesh’s response comes as part of a collaborative effort involving the Chief Adviser's Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Armed Forces Division, BGMEA, Essential Drugs Company Limited, and PRAN-RFL. These organizations have worked together to send the much-needed supplies.
This is not the first time Bangladesh has extended its help to Afghanistan in the wake of a disaster. Bangladesh had previously sent aid to the country following the 2022 earthquake.
The government hopes that the timely delivery of this assistance will help alleviate the suffering of those impacted by the disaster and support Afghanistan’s ongoing recovery efforts.
